Just a quick reminder to have a camera and typewriter on hand for next Thursday, June 23, to commemorate Typewriter Day in your part of the Typosphere. Here's the original post about it. Try to get shots or video of yourself (or others!) typing -- in public, at home, at the library, at work, wherever you may be, and upload them so they can be shared here. Show a little QWERTY love for Christopher Sholes.
Of course, he's not the only one with his hands in the works, so to speak. Have you been reading Robert Messenger's outstanding On This Day In Typewriter History series? He's weaving a fascinating web on his blog, with regular, fact-filled updates. Clear your calendar and start reading.

Because people might upload video to many different places (fickr takes video now too) it might facilitate any search (and do the cause some good) by tagging or labelling any uploads with a unique keyword for the event - how about 'typewriterday2011'?
And of course make sure you descriptions have link to http://typosphere.net
Good idea, Rob. I was also thinking of having everyone post links to their uploads after the fact.
Thanks for the reminder about this event, and Rob has a great point, a tag would be useful, or links on typosphere.net, or something organized like that.
Sounds like a plan. Cool! Looks like I'll be busting out the Royal QDeL and my fedora. Atmosphere, after all, is everything.
Yes, an "event" link would be great, or at least a post about the day and what we will be doing. If there is a spot to upload pictures/video on that day, let me know and I will contribute. By the way: The Phoenix Type-In today was a blast. Happy to have met all of those fellow enthusiasts.
