Is our typosphere moving closer to the skies? As
has been reported, the newly elected Pope Francis bought an electric Olivetti typewriter in Germany in the 1980s, and has used it for his personal correspondence since. Another prominent typewriter user! And a little blessing can't be wrong, can it?

Indeed. Now I feel a little less of a heathen (as far as the typosphere is concerned, at least) for liking, collecting AND using electric typewriters. XD

ReplyDeleteDid he state that his chosen name Francis refers to Assisi or is it just assumed? I would have thought it referred to Francis Xavier, being a Jesuit and all.

Just heard there was a statement that it does refer to Assisi, so that's settled. We should all write to him with some serious doctrinal questions to see if anyone gets a type sample back.
