Asbestos: A Typist's Best Friend?

Well, maybe not. Don't mind me, I'm just trying to identify the typewriter that was the model for this drawing. I'm thinking a round-top Royal QDL, myself...

Asbestos! Use it on your desk! On your clothes! Near food!

  1. looks like the older round-keyed QDL, from the shape of the carriage return lever.

  3. I agree. Early QDL, and 100 series bakelite telephone. Although, I have no idea why the phone needed a shingle, as it got neither particularly warm, or noisy - as the ringer was an external unit.

  4. And paint the walls with that vibrant lead-based paint! The Romans did it, and look at their achievements so many centuries ago!

  5. Don't they claim that the downfall of the Roman empire, among other things, was caused by their lead pipes and the lead-poising that resulted? Ignorance is strength...
