Looks like there's some interest in having a virtual Type-In over the weekend using the Google+ video chat. If anyone is interested or would like an invite to Plus, drop a note in the comments. Leave an email address for the Plus invite if you're looking for one.

That sounds interesting! Depending on the time I might be able to join.
I could try to join in, if I can figure out how to work the built-in camera on my netbook (:
Yeah, I have a built-in camera in my laptop, but I've never used it...this will be an adventure!
I'm thinking I'll be there.
Is there a day and time that works best for everyone? What time of day Pacific time would be sort of accessible for any overseas folks?
I'm pretty much open.
I feel I should stand up for this one. Weekend's a bit packed at the moment (my town has an an annual and most excellent music festival with real ale, steam trains and MORRIS DANCING!) but if a no-show doesn't upset, I'd be glad to accept an invite - if you know what I mean? And no clue how G+ video works...
All right, you've sucked me in, you dastardly Plusser. Send me an invite (polt@xavier.edu) and I will participate if possible.
Invite sent, Commandant Polt.
I am open friday night or any time saturday until 6 pm pacific time, then after midnight when I sometimes see Adwoa log in, and all day Sunday, plus Monday is a holiday here.
So if we did late evening friday Europe would be on early morning and Brisbane would be what - late afternoon?
Sounds like fun. If it's a Sunday PM, there's a big chance I'll make it. Please send instructions to the lo-tech guy.
I missed the last one, but I'm so there this time!
So this is what rises from the ashes of my defunct IRL type-in.
Good enough, I suppose.
Ah, but attendance here is guilt-driven, Mr. Speegle. Also: pants are optional.
I like the idea of early morning Europe time; I could wake up for that I think, although the lighting situation would be abysmal. Nothing new and it probably can't be helped, as we are 6 hours ahead. Really, as I'm in the minority I'm perfectly willing to adapt to what works for you all, although you must not begrudge me my dimly-lit face :-)
*yay for optional pants*
make sure you all set up the client ahead of time. it takes a few minutes. if I'm online feel free to test it by inviting me
Prolly not enough time for me to absorb the basics of the technology involved. Will be with you in spirit.
(Looks like I'm napping, you say? No. Being with you in spirit takes tremendous, closed-eye concentration. Stop distracting me.)
Ahh! I would be there, but I will be at the Gorge this weekend screaming/dancing my brains out, so next time! :D (if all goes well I might have a new phone and post from the concert(s)...)
I made a handy-dandy time-zone converter:

let's pick a time.
Sorry to say that I will not be able to make it. This is a bit of a crazy-busy time and things just didn't align. Have a wonderful time; I hope you'd still welcome me for the next one. Cheers!
So, will the time of the virtual type-in be posted here?
The notion of holding two is being bandied around: I'll get them to commit. Noon and Midnight PDT is the current proposal.
on which day?
Duh, sorry. Saturday the 3rd at Noon and Midnight PDT. But I'm confirming this.
Alternately, just stay logged in to Google+ ALL WEEKEND. BWAH HA HA HA HA!
Invite me too! I'll be there.
I'm about to log in.
still doing one at midnight?
