Typewriters are in style
Design by Mary Kantrantzou.
Source
Another story shows a Kantrantzou dress featuring typewriter keys.
A closeup (source) shows that the typewriter is a QWERTZ:
UPDATE: the image on the dress was almost certainly based on typospherian Adwoa's photo of her repainted Olivetti Lettera 35 (see comments).

A Swiss QWERTZ, at that... looks remarkably like the Lettera 35 I painted red and featured on the blog some time back:

Holy runway, Adwoa!
I am 99% sure that Ms. Kantratzou has appropriated your photo to make this dress! Congratulations on contributing (involuntarily) to global fashion!
Adwoa, perhaps you should diversify and design your own typewriter clothing line. ( :
Adwoa, seems like your photos of your repainted typewriters are ïn great demand - the photo of your red Hermes Baby was also in use at blickamabend.ch until a few weeks ago, as teaser for the "Redaktionsblog". It is gone, though, since the last redesign.
Richard, I'll go a bit further and say I'm 99% sure it's the same image that has been distorted. Umm... wow? I'm not sure whether to be miffed or flattered; I sure wish this wasn't the first I was hearing of it. Oh, well.
I suppose this is what it must be like for you when I photograph your images on billboards advertising typewriters/ garage sales over here :)
Florian, you should have told me about blickamend! I would have been interested to see it :( It's not a site I ever visit, so I never came across it.
I can't keep track of where my pictures end up, so I only find out when others show me...
We live in an age of sampling, borrowing, and outright plagiarism. Still, it would only have been courteous of the designer to try to contact the photographer. I think you have every right to ask for a share of whatever money she makes with this design, and/or YOUR VERY OWN TYPEWRITER DRESS!
Adwoa, I believe that this makes you the Coco Chanel of the typosphere ;)
Here's another story.
Now I need to get an Olivetti Letter 35.
Thanks for the support, everyone, and for your advice, Richard. I am writing to her studio in London and will post an update to this story on my blog if I get a response. Fingers crossed :)
