A Typewriter Festival is happening on Saturday, June 14th from 2–5pm at the International Printing Museum in Carson (LA area), in celebration of National Typewriter Day. It’s an afternoon filled with vintage charm, interactive activities, and a deep appreciation for the art of analog creativity.

Guests will be able to:

• Type on real working vintage typewriters

• Join fun contests like the Typewriter Speed Challenge and a "Never Ending Tale"

• Explore a vintage typewriter exhibit by Typewriter Connection

• Create typo-o-grams, handmade cards, and on-the-spot poetry

• Shop for unique merch and even win a restored typewriter!

Support the Typosphere for Another Ten Years

A decade ago I posted an appeal to the Typosphere to fund the domain registration for TYPOSPHERE.NET and so many kind individuals lent their financial support. We had enough to register the domain for 10 years, but we are at the same place we were in 2016.

TYPOSPHERE.NET is the front page of the typewriter internet. It's been the place to post type-in notices, share stories about typewriters in the news, review new typewriter books, and present the typewriter-loving world. Again, TYPOSPHERE.NET needs your help.

The TYPOSPHERE.NET domain had been with GoDaddy for a long time, but when it came time to renew, I moved registration to Squarespace and added a year. I would like to extend the Squarespace registration for an additional nine years. The cost to do this would be $195. If everyone who has loved and supported this great site could chip in a few clams we could get this domain locked down for the next decade. If you could see your way to a $22 donation, that would provide a whole year of TYPOSPHERE.NET. 

We live in uncertain times and it may seem like a domain name is small potatoes, but your support means everyone can keep posting type-in updates, typewriters in the news, book reviews, and launches for the next ten years.
